National Executive Committee

The NEC is the principal executive committee of the union, and is responsible for the overall government of the union. It is the driving seat of the union; it determines the stance we take on particular issues; it governs the staffing of the full-time officials; it determines the subscription rates; it is responsible for the financial status of the union.

The NEC is elected every two years and any rep with at least two years' experience can be nominated for election. The NEC itself is made up of elected reps, each of whom represents the UFS members in a particular geographic region, plus the Chair and the General Secretary.
